The main menu, item browsing, and adding items to transactions have all been optimized for speed. You’ll notice the difference immediately — less waiting, more selling. Multiple database round-trips have been consolidated into single optimized queries, and item data is now cached intelligently so repeated lookups are instant.
Items now automatically deselect after being added to a transaction, so you won’t accidentally ring something up twice.

TORO now rounds cash transactions to the nearest nickel, dime, quarter, or dollar — your choice. Rounding preferences can be set per customer, and round-up amounts go straight to a charity account. A charity account is automatically created and configured during setup. Less hassle at the register, and your customers will love it.

🛑 Drawer Close Safety Check
No more accidentally carrying over yesterday’s totals.
TORO now warns you if the previous day’s drawer was never closed. When you log in and the system detects an open drawer from a prior day, you’ll get a clear prompt to close it before starting fresh. Catch mistakes before they snowball into end-of-week accounting headaches.

A brand-new standalone updater handles TORO updates automatically. Desktop shortcuts for TORO and TORO Sync are created for you — no more hunting for the right file to launch. The sync tool now launches directly via TORO.exe with a –sync flag, so everything runs from a single executable.

💬 Modern Message Dialogs
Every alert, warning, and error now looks the part.
All message popups throughout TORO have been upgraded to a modern, clean design. Information messages show a teal info icon, warnings get an amber triangle, and errors display a red stop sign — so you always know what you’re looking at. The old system-style popups are gone. Message dialogs now fully support dark mode too — colors automatically adapt to your chosen theme.

🌑 Automatic Dark Mode
TORO now follows the sun.
Dark mode is here — and it’s automatic. TORO switches between light and dark themes based on your local sunset time. No timers to set, no buttons to press. When the sun goes down, TORO goes dark. When dawn breaks, it switches back to light.
Prefer to control it yourself? You can lock it to Light or Dark mode, or set a specific time for the switch. Head to
DASHBOARD → THEME SETTINGS to choose your preference.
Buttons, radio buttons, labels, and dialogs throughout the app all respond to the theme automatically.

- Sync Tool: TORO Sync now launches via the main TORO executable with a –sync flag. Desktop shortcuts are auto-created for sync stations.
- Store Map Publisher: New infrastructure for publishing store locations to the TORO website automatically.
- Release Notes Publisher: Version release notes can now be published directly to the website during the build process.
